Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust is an open-end unincorporated investment trust formed for the purpose of investing in, and managing hotel properties. The trust is an owner, operator and manager of a diversified portfolio of hotels and resorts in Canada.

Royal Host’s core businesses are hotel ownership, management and franchising in Canada. The trust owns 37 properties, comprising 4,500 guest rooms, in the mid-market to upscale hospitality segments operating under such brands as Best Western®, Country Inns & Suites®, Hilton®, Holiday Inn®, Ramada®, Super 8®, Thriftlodge® and Travelodge®, as well as a number of unbranded properties, such as the Chimo Hotel in Ottawa and the Yellowknife Inn. In addition to providing management services for its own portfolio, Royal Host manages a number of properties on behalf of third parties.

Royal Host owns the master franchise rights for Travelodge and Thriftlodge in Canada of which there are more than 100 franchise locations, including 15 owned by the Trust.
